You can receive two kinds of notifications (email and push notifications) as part of your Gnowbe experience. We recommend turning your notifications on to have the best Gnowbe experience. At Gnowbe, we take great care in controlling the number of notifications a learner receives.

Push notifications
Messages that pop up on a mobile device with Gnowbe App installed and a user logged into the app. There are different types of push messages, such as:
- Private Messages - This will pop up when another learner sends you a message on Gnowbe.
- Curator Messages - If you are the curator of a program, users can message you. If you have curator messages on, then a push notification will notify you that you've received a message for any of the programs from one of your learners.
- Comments/Likes - Get notified when another learner likes or comments on your post on the group board.
- Mentions in Messages - Get notified when another learner tags/mentions you in a message.
- Daily Program Messaging - Get a daily notification from a program that has been designed to learn daily. This could be an inspirational message, teaser message, or a reminder to complete the session for the day. In the 'Program Daily Messaging' section of the notification settings, you can control the programs you want to receive Daily Program Messaging for.
- Inactivity Messaging - If you forget to use the Gnowbe app for a few days, then inactivity messaging will remind you to access the app.
- Group Agent Communication - If your group agent (your program organizer) wants to send you useful information or reminders about the program.
Email notifications
Emails that are sent to the inbox of the account you registered with Gnowbe. There are different types of emails, such as:
- Daily Program Emails - Sent by program curators to notify you of the day's topic. You may receive one daily email per program at the start of the day until the program ends.
- Program Completion Emails - You may get these emails after completing certain actions. These emails will contain small rewards and access to additional exclusive course material.
- Weekly Journey Emails - A weekly summary of your Gnowbe activity. You can track your progress and ranking here. When set to 'on,' you'll get this every Friday.
- Activity Notifications - If you have set this to 'on,' you'll get an email notification when any of the following events occur - someone sends you a private message, anyone commenting/liking your shares, and if there are new shares in your group.
- Group Agent Communication Emails - If your group agent (your program organizer) wants to send you helpful information or reminders about the program.
