A workspace is a secure, dedicated digital space that houses your user groups and programs.
As a Gnowbe user, you might actually belong to several different workspaces at the same time. For example, you can be a Creator in your personal free-tier workspace while simultaneously being a learner in another workspace.
Workspaces help you manage your content by showing only the groups and programs relevant to the space you are currently in. This keeps your interface clean and organized.
The 3 Types of Workspaces
Depending on what you are working on, you will interact with three distinct types of workspaces:

Sandbox Workspace
- Whenever you create a program, it starts here in your Sandbox workspace before you make it live for user groups.
- This is where you will find all the programs you have Creator rights to—meaning any programs you created yourself or were invited to co-create and edit.

Creator Workspaces
- A Creator Workspace is where you create programs and access your own learning content.
- A workspace appears here if you hold a Creator role in a paid organization or use your personal free-tier workspace.

You can only create programs in a Creator workspace.

Learner Workspaces
- A workspace shows up here if you have been added to it strictly to complete learning programs.
How to Create a Free-Tier Workspace
The great news is that all Gnowbe users who sign up organically can create a personal free-tier workspace, regardless of their current subscription status.
Here's how to create one:
- Log in to Gnowbe, then click the workspace dropdown menu in the top-left corner of your page.
- Click Create New.
- Select New Workspace.
- A new workspace will be created for your account and named "[Your Username]'s Workspace" by default. Click Create Workspace to proceed.
That’s it! Your new workspace is ready to go, giving you a fresh, clean environment to create, organize, and learn.
