Curators can pose star rating questions based on various KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to evaluate their program's performance. KPIs help you get numerical data on how well your program is performing against the intended objectives.
In Gnowbe, you can set different types of KPIs:
- Happiness - Gives you an indication of how satisfied the learners are with your program and/or with Gnowbe.
- Program Effectiveness - Gives you an indication of how effective is the program in helping to achieve the learning objectives.
- Program Quality - Gives you an indication of what the users think of the program's overall quality.
- Various - This allows you to set custom KPIs.
All KPIs are measured by checking learners' responses to the rating questions asked, and this data will be aggregated and displayed on Gnowbe Dashboard, our backend administrative platform.

How to add star ratings
- Go into Edit mode. Click into an action and click the star icon on the top right-hand corner.
- A pop-up box will appear for you to select the type of KPI and to craft your question.
- Select your KPI
- Craft your question
- You can refer to the sample questions that will guide you on setting the right question for each KPI.
- Once done, click Save.
- A Rating label will appear for the actions that have a star rating. You'll only see this in Edit mode.
- To delete your star rating, click the trash bin icon.
Note: Star ratings will only appear once. If the learner revisits the action, they will not see the star rating a second time.
Tips and best practices
- It is not a good idea to add both star rating and in-app message (pop-up notification) in the same action since the presence of one may dilute the effect of the other.
- Placement of ratings is important, so think through where would be a good idea to set a rating. For example, if a learner sees the rating question "How much are you enjoying this learning experience?" in the first action, that would give you a premature response as the learner has yet to go through the program.

Admins or Agents can recommend their curators embed certain questions in their programs to help with data collection. We recommend the following:
-
-
Start of program - under Program effectiveness KPI
On a scale of 1-5, how much do you know about [topic] -
Middle of program - under Happiness KPI
On a scale of 1-5, how much are you enjoying this learning experience? -
End of program - under Program effectiveness KPI
On a scale of 1-5, having gone through the program, how much do you now know about [topic]
