Gnowbe allows you to drive learner engagement by sending push messaging (push notifications and push emails) to learners. This is done on Gnowbe Dashboard.
-
Push Notification - A message a learner receives on the phone. Tapping the message will take the learner to the Gnowbe app on the phone. All apps (e.g., WhatsApp, Facebook, LinkedIn) use push messaging. If a learner is logged on to Gnowbe Web, they will also receive the push notification at the top right-hand corner of the web browser (bell icon).

-
Push Email - A message the learner receives via the email they used to register for their Gnowbe account.
Example of a Gnowbe push email
To send a push message, you should have either of the following:
- Agent access to a Gnowbe group with at least one program (published and distributed) and at least one user. Agent access allows you to send push messages to a specific group at a time - the group(s) you are an agent of.
- Admin access to a workspace with at least one user. Admin access will allow you to send messages to the entire workspace.

- Tips & Tricks
1. Sending Push Messaging to a Group
Allows you to send messages to all users in a group. You can specify a Gnowbe program to which you wish to tag your notification and users will be brought to that specific program upon opening the notification.
- Log into Gnowbe Dashboard and click Groups.
- Select the group you wish to send a push message to.
- Click Messaging.
-
Select your users.
In this step, you will be able to select the target group for your push messaging. By default, all users in the group will be selected. However, you can narrow and filter your selection in various ways:
-
-
- Manually select your users. Do so by toggling off Select all participants. Once you do that, all users will be deselected; you can then select each intended recipient individually.
- Add a filter. Click Filter to add filters. Right now, you can filter users by completion rate (e.g., you could select users whose completion rate is <20%, so users with <20% average completion rate for all programs in that group will get selected).

2. Sending Push Messaging to the Entire Workspace
Allows you to send messages to all workspace members. Upon opening the notification, users will be brought to the program they last left off. This means that users from the same workspace may be brought to different programs - depending on which program they stopped at.

Log into Gnowbe Dashboard and click Messaging.
